Spine and Joint Center of Fort Lauderdale has served Oakland Park and the rest of Greater Fort Lauderdale since 1979, and we’re here to help you fight back against the effects of chronic pain and aging. We operate a full-service chiropractic clinic that offers chiropractic adjustments, acupuncture, osteopathy, massage therapy, and a customer service encounter that’s second to none!
Our necks and our spines are connected to our entire bodies, and proper spinal health is an essential component of a long and healthy life. Physical labor puts a lot of stress on your body each day, and it’s almost as harmful to spend your whole day hunched over a desk or to sleep in the wrong position at night. We understand that the human body has an amazing ability to heal itself, and we believe in helping our patients make healthy lifestyle decisions to further benefit from our chiropractic and wellness services.
Dr. Michael Petrie is a 1979 graduate of Life Chiropractic College and opened our clinic for business immediately after graduation. Dr. Petrie is the past president of the Local Chamber and a past board member of the Florida Chiropractic Society. He has been frequently called as an expert medical witness in legal proceedings and completes independent medical examinations as needed.
Dr. Douglas Kellerman joined the practice in 2000 after relocating to South Florida from his practice in New York City. Dr. Kellerman graduated from New York Chiropractic College in Seneca Falls, NY in 1997, and has been proud to help thousands of patients over the course of his career.
Dr. Petrie and Dr. Kellerman are both well-known for their experience and professionalism, as well as their commitment to the health and well-being of their patients. They’re both great listeners, and they make sure to properly inform patients when choosing the course of their treatment.
We currently offer the following services at our clinic:
- Chiropractic Adjustments
- Osteopathic Medicine
- Massage Therapy
- Physical Therapy
Our integrated method combines the Palmer, Thompson and Diversified approaches. We do extremity adjustments, employ soft-tissue techniques, and do spinal decompression with specialty equipment for some disc injuries including herniated discs.
Every patient has unique needs, and we’ll be sure to offer you plenty of choices during your initial consultation. We are also happy to work with your insurance company to save you money.
